About GCA

Gynaecology Centres Australia (GCA) has been providing first trimester pregnancy termination services since 1998. Locations of centres were chosen in order to benefit women requiring these services and ultimately improve access to women living in urban/rural areas.

Our mission is to provide safe, legal and non-judgmental pregnancy termination to women, and offer reliable and effective contraception. Our policy is to provide comprehensive, concise and unbiased information to a woman considering termination of pregnancy.

We also provide D&C for incomplete miscarriage, foetal abnormalities and non-progressing pregnancies (foetal demise or blighted ovum).  Our service prevents often lengthy and emotionally traumatic admissions to hospital.    > More information about miscarriage.

Each patient is individually assessed and counselled prior to her procedure by the doctor performing the procedure. We aim to provide a medical service synonymous to a person seeking medical treatment for any other condition.

We provide ultrasound assessment for every patient prior to the procedure to ascertain gestational age, site of pregnancy and uterine abnormalities.

We also provide, at some of our centres, general women’s health care, including breast examinations, Pap smears, menopause management, sexual health, weight management, bowel screening, osteoporosis screening, fertility management, postnatal checks, Mirena/IUD insertions, Implanon insertions and removals, diaphragm fittings, Depo-Provera injections and pregnancy dating ultrasound.

We provide 24-hour phone contact for advice and management.

We adhere to Australian medical standards and guidelines recommended by The Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
